Google Play Update Brings Expandable Notifications, Mass Deletion of Apps and More

Google is rolling out an update to its Google Play Store, which brings some neat features for a better overall user experience.

First introduced in Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, notifications for apps' updates are now expandable as well. Upon expanding the notification tab, you will see the list of apps that have updates.

Once you installed an app, you will see the app icon instead of some generic logo. As this new feature is purely aesthetic, it provides no functional purpose.

Instead of a generic icon (left), you will see the app icon after installation (right).

Probably the most prominent new feature of the updated Google Play is the ability to remove apps from the All Apps List. You can go through the list of apps and delete the ones you do not want anymore. To select multiple apps for deletion, simply press and hold on any app.

Notice the difference in the interfaces of the All Apps List between the old Google Play Store (left) and new version (center and right).

The new Google Play monitors your location when you are browsing through apps. When you tap into an app and return back to the previous menu, Google Play automatically brings you back to the same spot you left off. This is also pretty handy, as you no longer need to scroll down the list again. Below is a YouTube video demonstrating the new feature:
