Google Hangouts now has its own page

Google Hangouts now has its own page. We at HardwareZone use Hangouts for our own internal chats, and it's been a hassle to keep heading back into Gmail in order to get at that little chat window. No more.

The new Hangouts now puts all your chats front and center, sadly though each chat window is still pretty small. You can still pop them into separate windows, although like Gmail previously, if you close the Hangouts window every other chat window also closes. There are three big buttons for video and phone calls, as well as messages.

Google Hangouts has been getting more love recently, with redesigns on both iOS and Android. One can't help but wonder if it's in response to the growing popularity of chat/productivity apps like Slack. So, Google - how about a Hangouts app for OS X and Windows?
