Gigabyte updates its Brix mini-PC series with new Intel Broadwell mobile CPUs

Gigabyte has updated its Brix and Brix s mini-PC series with new Intel Broadwell mobile CPUs. According to the company, the new mini-PC barebone kits will feature three SKUs of the mobile Broadwell processor. The Intel Core i7-5500U has a base clock of 2.4GHz, and a Turbo clock speed of 3.0GHz.The middle child is the Intel Core i5-5200U (2.2GHz/2.7 GHz); while the Intel i3-5010U, rated to operate at 2.1 GHz, brings up the rear. This current crop of Broadwell mobile chips features the on-die Intel HD 5500 GPU. It’s DirectX12 ready and has better support for 4K resolution.

The updated Brix and Brix s series have support for dual displays with the HDMI and mini-Displayport connectivity options. They also boast of wireless networking capabilities due to their bundled Intel 802.11ac dual-band Wi-Fi/Bluetooth 4.0 modules. For the Brix and Brix S kits that feature the Intel Core i7 CPUs, they will be equipped with NFC technology.
