Dropbox Offers Up to 4.5GB Extra Space for Beta Test

Dropbox is now offering its users up to 4.5GB of free extra storage space on their accounts if they are interested to test out its experimental new build 1.3.12.

According to Lifehacker, the new build enables users to automatically sync photos and videos from cameras, SD cards and mobile phones with their accounts. For every 500MB of photos and videos uploaded, users will receive another 500MB up to a total of 4.5GB.

Dropbox - "During this beta period, we are also offering additional free space to test automatic uploading of photos and videos. For every 500MB of photos and videos automatically uploaded, you'll receive another 500MB space bonus, up to 4.5GB total."

As this is a beta software, it is highly recommended to back up your data before downloading the beta build. It is available for download on Windows, Mac, Linux x86_64 and Linux x86 here

HTC Sense 3.5 users will benefit more from this beta testing as they are already enjoying 5GB of free storage, which is inclusive of the 2GB free storage when they set up their Dropbox accounts.

If you are not willing to take the risk of downloading the beta build or not a HTC Sense 3.5 user, there is an easier and safer alternative to get more storage space. All you need to do is to send referral links to your friends. Each time a friend joins Dropbox, both of you will receive an additional 250MB each. Dropbox is available for download on multiple platforms and devices including Windows, Mac, Linux, iPad, iPhone, Google Android and BlackBerry.
