Game Developer Hacks Donkey Kong for Daughter to Play as Pauline

Game developer Mike Mika has hacked the NES ROM of Donkey Kong to allow his daughter to play as Pauline instead of Mario. In Donkey Kong, Mario must rescue Pauline, who is under Donkey Kong's control. By swapping palettes and redrawing frames, his three-year-old daughter now plays as Pauline in the NES classic.
Mike plays many old games with his three-year-old daughter and after playing as Peach in Super Mario Bros. 2, his daughter assumed she could play as Pauline as well in Donkey Kong, her favorite game. Seeing his daughter's disappointment after being told she could only play as Mario, Mike set out to switch the roles between Mario and Pauline and has posted a YouTube video of his work.
