The Galaxy S8 may come with 6GB RAM and offer storage options up to 256GB

As we approach the end of 2016, the rumor mill is picking up more reports on Samsung's upcoming flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S8.

The latest rumor claims that the Galaxy S8 will be equipped with a whopping 6GB RAM and have storage options of up 256GB even though it is likely to come with a microSD memory card slot.

If true, this marks a more aggressive marketing strategy by Samsung to compete with the Apple iPhone 7 which also offers storage options up to 256GB. The discontinued Galaxy Note7 comes with 64GB internal storage space while the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge have two storage options of 32GB and 64GB.

Other rumored specs of the Galaxy S8 include a bigger display with pressure-sensitive technology and an embedded fingerprint sensor, a new AI assistant, an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, virtual reality features and a dual-camera module. It is expected to be launched in March 2017.
