Well, this did come as an early morning surprise for us. Engadget has just received news that Opera Mini, which was submitted to the Apple App Store for approval just a few weeks ago, has been given the nod from Apple. Many people have thought this to either be a futile move or a way to bring Opera Mini out in the limelight should they get the stamp of rejection.
Engadget - Our man Thomas Ricker was just wondering how long it would take before Apple determined the fate of Opera Mini for iPhone, and we've got some good news -- it's been approved and will be available for free on the App Store within 24 hours! Can't say we were expecting that, since non-Safari-based browsers have typically been verboten from Apple's little kingdom, but we're certainly happy to be surprised.
With this decision, iPhone users will now have an alternative web browser to view their web pages. As to how Opera Mini will fully integrate your apps and its accompanying links together, we aren't able to make an informed decision just yet. But if you wish to know more, check out the full story here.
