Do you love Football Manager? Are you an Android user? If you've answered 'yes' to both questions, then this news is ripe for you. The long-running gaming franchise developed by Sports Interactive is now finally available on Google Play. According to Sports Interactive's studio director, Miles Jacobson, Football Manager Handheld has been in high demand since its arrival on Apple's iOS ecosystem years ago. The 2012 edition, however, was only launched on iOS a few weeks back.

To the uninitiated, Football Manager Handheld 2012, essentially, enables players to control clubs from different football leagues across 12 countries. In-game operations include team management, transfers, tactics, training, as well as simulated matches in a 2D format with a simple top-down view. Countries featured in Football Manager Handheld 2012 are Australia, Belgium, Brazil, England, France, Germany, Holland, Italy, Portugal, Scotland, Spain and Wales. Based on The Telegraph's report, the Android version also includes a "Challenge Mode" which requires you to achieve specific goals with your chosen club.

Football Manager Handheld 2012 is currently available on Google Play, and it's priced at £6.99 (S$12.50). The 27MB game isn't cheap, but endearing fans would undoubtedly enjoy this engaging time-killer on their phones. Also note that the mobile game is only compatible with Android 2.2 (Froyo) or higher.
