Not a surprise to see the first batch of Xiaomi Mi Note sold out in three minutes

The Mi Note proves to be yet another smash hit for Xiaomi.

The first batch of Mi Note went on sale earlier today in China and as expected, stocks ran out. The timing? Three minutes.

While it may pale in comparison with the two-minute timing set by the Mi 3 last October, we still consider this feat impressive. What's even more jaw-dropping is the fact that this sale received over 220 million reservations as claimed by a Xiaomi Vice President.

While reservations do not necessarily translate into sales, it only goes to show the insane demand for the Mi Note which was announced just less than two weeks ago. The next batch of Mi Note will go on sale in China next Tuesday, February 3. The flagship model, the Mi Note Pro, is expected to be launched sometime in March.

In case you missed it, the Mi Note will be available in Singapore in Q2 2015. While we're not aware of the retail price yet for the local market, a quick conversion of currency from China's official online retail prices, the Mi Note costs about S$495 for the 16GB model and S$602 for the 64GB variant. To find out more about the Mi Note, do check out our full review where we concluded that it is one of the best phablets available in the market.
