Epson Announces New Home Cinema 3D Projectors at IFA 2012

At IFA 2012, Epson has refreshed its home theater projector lineup with the introduction of three new full HD 3D projectors. Leading the pack is the EH-TW9100W, which is the successor to the EH-TW9000W. All three projectors use Epson’s 3LCD technology, has 2,400 lumens of light output (both color and white), and a contrast ratio of 320,000:1. All three models also come with a 2.1x zoom lens and a wide lens shift function for placement flexibility.

The EH-TW9100W has the added advantage of WirelessHD support, which means wireless transmission of full HD video is possible. If the source device doesn’t have Wi-Fi support, you can use the bundled wireless transmitter which has five HDMI inputs. The EH-TW9100 is essentially the EH-TW9100W without this wireless connection feature.

The EH-TW8100 doesn’t include features such as anamorphic aspect ratio in both 2D and 3D mode, ISF certified colour management, and the two pairs of rechargeable RF (radio frequency) active shutter 3D glasses that come with the two higher-end models.

The EH-TW9100W, EH-TW9100, and EH-TW8100 3D projectors will be available in Germany from November, and are priced at 3,199 euros (~S$5,020), 2,899 euros (~S$4,550), and 2,499 euros (~S$3,922) respectively.

Those looking for something more affordable should check out the EH-TW6100W, EH-TW6100 and EH-TW5910. Compared to their higher-end siblings, these three models sport lower light output (2,300 lumens for EH-TW6100W/6100, 2,100 lumens for EH-TW5910) and lower contrast ratio (40,000:1 for EH-TW6100W/6100, 20,000:1 for EH-TW5910).

The EH-TW6100W supports WirelessHD, and the other two don’t. The EH-TW6100W and EH-TW6100 also come with a pair of USB-rechargeable, RF-beaming, active shutter 3D glasses.

The EH-TW6100W, EH-TW6100, and EH-TW5910 will be available in Germany from October, and are priced at 1,799 euros (~S$2,823), 1,499 euros (~S$2,352), and 1,099 euros (~S$1,725) respectively.
