EKWB has unveiled a full-cover water block for the AMD Radeon RX 480, which when installed, will allow you to use the card as a true single-slot solution.

The EK-FC RX-480 water block comes in four different variants. These can be categorized into Plexi – or acrylic top – and Acetal blocks, and include the regular nickel-plated electrolytic copper with a clear acrylic or black Acetal top. On top of that, the RX 480 water block is also available in bare electrolytic copper, with options for both acrylic and Acetal tops as well.

The water block is designed to make direct contact with the GPU, memory modules, and VRMs, allowing the coolant to flow directly over crucial components. Further to that, the blocks utilize EKWB’s central inlet split-flow cooling engine. This enables it to work in situations where water flow is reversed without suffering any adverse effects to cooling, which means that it will play well even with lower powered water pumps.

And because the Radeon RX 480’s display connectors are located in a single row, installing the water block will convert the card into a single-slot solution. The single-slot bracket comes bundled with the water block, so there’s no need to buy one separately.

The blocks are available to buy now from the EK Webshop and partner resellers. The bare copper blocks cost US$110, while the nickel-plated ones are slightly more expensive at US$118. EKWB says we can expect backplates in both black and nickel in the coming weeks.
