ECS has announced its Durathon motherboard standard that consists of high-quality build components, combined with a stringent testing regime. With this new standard, the company claims that Durathon-based boards will deliver stable and reliable performances over long periods.
By using Bi-Directional Weaved Glass Fabric in its circuit board material, ECS claims that Durathon boards are less susceptible to damage from heat and humidity. This technology seems to be inspired by Gigabyte's glass fabric PCB technology. ECS also highlight the presence of its new Super Solid Capacitors that are touted to have a lifespan of up to 200,000 hours (22 years), compared to typical capacitors that are only rated up to 32,000 hours (3.6 years). The new capacitors can also deliver stable performance at extreme temperatures of up to 100 degrees Celsius.
The Durathon boards need to undergo the 1.5K Marathon Test that will subject these boards for thorough component testing. At the same time, the boards will undergo active testing at temperatures ten degrees Celsius higher and lower than those used in industry standard test procedures.
