Drive safer with Kenwood’s new DVR-410 in-car camera

With Kenwood’s new DRV-410, capturing incident video is a breeze. The window-mounted front-facing camera captures video in Super HD (2304x1296) resolution and has great High Dynamic Range (HDR) capabilities which allow it to get clear video even in challenging situations.

A built-in shock sensor activates recording instantly upon impact even when the car is parked, and incident locations are geotagged by the onboard GPS so you’ll have all the evidence you need. The DRV-410 can be set to continuously record video to a SD card, accepting capacities up to 32GB, and an 8GB card is included with every unit to get you started. The unit powers on and off in sync with your car’s ignition, and has a rechargeable battery built-in to keep it going while your vehicle is parked.

The rear LCD allows for easy review of collision footage.

Where the DRV-410 stands out though, is in the inclusion of a driver assistance package which adds features like lane departure warning (which emits a series of audible tones when you stray beyond lane markers) and collision avoidance, which monitors the distance and speed of the car in front and warns you if an impact is imminent. There’s also a distraction deterrent system, which alerts you when stopped traffic in front of your car starts moving, and all of the features can be selectively activated or disabled to best fit your preferences.

The DRV-410 will retail for US$250 and is shipping in North America later this month, but local availability and pricing have yet to be announced.
