D-Link Product Announcements at CES 2013

D-Link has just announced its new products at CES 2013. Their offerings include 802.11ac routers, cloud-based home surveillance cameras as well as a portable Wi-Fi hotspot; all of which are targeted at consumers with specific networking needs.

For the company's routers, the D-Link DGL-5500 gaming router features Qualcomm's StreamBoost technology and is touted to be able to improve Wi-Fi performance for multi-player gaming. It supports up to 802.11ac wireless speeds of up to 1300Mbps and offers four Gigabit LAN ports for wired connectivity. Its price is yet to be determined but will be available in the United States in late spring this year.

There is also a pair of 802.11ac routers announced on the show floor of CES; they are the DIR-868L (AC1750) and DIR-860L (AC1200) cloud routers. They offer speeds of up to 1750Mbps and 1200Mbps respectively. They are scheduled to ship in April 2012 and are priced at are scheduled to ship in April, with the DIR-868L (AC1750) priced at US$170 and DIR-860L (AC1200) at US$150.

The SharePort Go II (DIR-508L) is portable networking device aimed at the road warrior who needs to share his broadband connection. It supports 802.11n/g/b wireless standards with speeds up to 300Mbps. It sports a 4000MAh rechargeable battery that not only powers itself but also keeps your attached devices charged as well. Priced at US$120, it will ship in April 2013.

Bringing up the rear are a pair of cloud-based video surveillance cameras; the Cloud Camera 1050 (DCS-931L) will ship next month in February for US$80, while the higher-end Cloud Camera 1150 (DCS-933L) that supports infrared capabilities, allowing it to operate in low-light conditions, will ship for US$100.
