Cisco Launches Linksys Switches and Wireless-N USB Adapter

High Performance and Simplicity for Connected Wired Devices

SINGAPORE - Cisco today reinforced its commitment to home networking with the launch of its new powerful and simple-to-use Linksys switches for home office and entertainment use. The new switches deliver the power to expand home networks and easily connect wired devices such as computers, printers, storage devices, scanners, games consoles, and Internet enabled TVs. Complementing the Linksys E-Series routers, the new switches will offer a full range of options that set a standard for speed and ease of use.

The new range of Linksys switches include features to enable faster and more simple wired connections. These include plug-and-play, eliminating the need for configuration, as well as Quality of Service (QoS) auto-sensing ports and power-saving features. The power-saving modes include auto power-down to disable unused ports, sleep mode when all ports are inactive and smart power for short cable runs. The switches are ideal for consumers or home office workers seeking an alternative to wireless, connections for multiple wired devices, or simply to extend their existing network.
