Canon Refreshes Its Legria Consumer Camcorder Lineup at CES 2014
At CES 2014, Canon has launched the Vixia Mini X (which will be called the Legria Mini X in our region), a pocket camcorder with a 1/2.3-inch CMOS sensor, an f/2.8 170° ultra-wide lens, 2.7-inch tilting touchscreen, built-in stereo microphone, and built-in Wi-Fi. The successor to the Legria Mini, the Mini X supports linear PCM audio recording, and AVCHD (1080/50i) and MP4 (1080/25p) video recording.
New Legria HF Camcorders
Also announced are a pair of Legria camcorders, the HF R56 and HF R506. Both sport Canon’s Digic DV4 chip, 3.2MP full HD CMOS sensor, 32x optical zoom (57x advanced zoom), and a 3-inch capacitive touchscreen. The HF R56 has the added flexibility to record for big screens and mobile devices at the same time, thanks to a built-in simultaneous dual-format recording function. According to Canon, it can record both high bit-rate AVCHD and low-bit rate MP4 videos of the same footage.
