Seems like our wishes (and many others) came true. Research in Motion is rumored to launch a new BlackBerry device with not only a physical QWERTY keyboard, but also a touchscreen panel. Information about this new slider device, which bears a strong resemblance to HTC's Touch Dual, is still pretty scarce. And while some sites have cited that this new slider model won't retain the SurePress technology as seen on the two BlackBerry Storms, there's no real confirmation as none of the units that were spotted got powered up.
GSM Arena - The first clear images of the BlackBerry's pioneer slider leaked online. The mysterious device sports touchscreen, optical trackpad, sliding full QWERTY keyboard and runs on BlackBerry OS 6. There is little info about the specs yet since the prototype appearing on the pictures below had a faulty battery and couldn't power on. However even that battery turned out to be unseen before in a BlackBerry device. Its model is FX-1 with 1050 mAh of capacity. We said unseen, not impressive, right?
One thing's for sure, we're keeping our eyes peeled for this new offering from the BlackBerry lineup. Check out more pictures of the BlackBerry slider phone here.
