Black iPad Mini to Be Available?

Being sold in one color is apparently not enough for Apple's iPad Mini. Just a day after the announcement that the device would be unveiled on the 17th of this month, tech website UkrainianiPhone has managed to get their hands on two mockup versions of the iPad Mini that have yet to surface, a black/slate variant and a nano-SIM alternative.

PocketNow - "From these new pictures, it looks like Apple will again be releasing the tablet in black and white color options, with an anodized aluminum finish to mirror what Apple’s offering with the iPhone 5. Internal shots show a SIM tray, suggesting at least an option for cellular connectivity, but that’s hardly surprising."

The 3G/4G version is hardly surprising, given that previous iPads have retailed in both WiFi only and WiFi + 3G versions. On the other hand, the fact that the iPad Mini might get two colors is reminiscent of its iPhone strategy and it wouldn't be surprising if the colors (and design) are intended to closely match its iPhone 5 peers. Hopefully, the iPad Mini's black anodized aluminium finish will not suffer the same scuffed fate as the black & slate iPhone 5s.
