Best Way to Sell a Smart Watch? Make it iPhone Compatible

We know that Android gives developers more control over the operating system, and products designed with Android tend to give users more flexibility in terms of usage. But as one Eric Migicovsky says, the best way to get your product the head start it deserves, is to make it iPhone compatible.

According to Mashable, the smart watch which he developed, called the Pebble, managed to garner over US$500,000 in its Kickstarter campaign. This is a whopping US$400,000 over what they were initially asking for (which they accomplished in a short 2 hours by the way). But of course, Android users shouldn't despair because the Pebble is compatible with Android devices too.

So what is so special about the Pebble that gets people excited enough to pledge their hard-earned money on the project? As you can see from the video above, there's nothing really ground breaking with the Pebble. What it does is deadly simple, which is a big part of its appeal.

It connects to your phone via Bluetooth, and you can track your calls and messages, your cycling or running route. You can even download new watch faces to suit your personality or style. It sports an e-paper display, instead of the usual battery draining color display. According to Migicovsky, this means a full charge should last for about a week before it needs to be juiced up.
