BenQ's new W1080ST+ and W1070+ home video projectors tout cinema-grade image quality

BenQ W1080ST+ 1080p DLP projector.

If you're looking for 1080p home video projectors that don't break the bank, know that BenQ has a couple of interesting models coming soon. First announced in September, the W1080ST+ and W1070+ are DLP projectors using a six-times speed, six-segment (RGBRGB) color wheel. (For advanced users who like to tweak, both models' color management systems allow fine-tuning of the hue and saturation levels for each of the six color wheel tones.)

Sporting 2,200 ANSI lumens of brightness, the two projectors are also equipped with Texas Instrument’s DarkChip3 tech for superior contrast performance, and are ISFccc-certificated for professional calibration service. They also tout a 10W resonant chamber speaker and MHL compatibility.

Between the two, the W1080ST+ is the short-throw model, which lets you project a 100-inch image at a distance of just 1.5m; versus the W1070+'s 2.5m. So if space is a constraint, take a look at the W1080ST+.

The W1080ST+ and W1070+ would be available in November, and are priced at S$1,688 and S$1,488 respectively.
