Average iPhone User Downloads 83 Apps Per Year

Do not be alarmed if you see a long apps list on your iTunes account.

According to Piper Jaffray analyst, Gene Munster, the average iPhone user is most likely to download 83 apps in a year and paying a higher price than before for paid apps. Compared against 2010's average of 51 apps being downloaded per user, this is a clear indication that apps consumption isn't slowing down over the next few months.

All Things D - In 2010, typical iOS device owners downloaded an average of 51 apps over the course of the year. This year, they’ll download 83, and they’ll likely pay a higher price for those that aren’t free.

Consider the numbers: with 425,000 apps (as of now) on the App Store, and the recent report of iPad apps crossing the 100,000 mark, there's definitely more iOS apps to choose from. So it is not surprising to see the average download numbers heading upwards. Instead of worrying about a lack of apps, iOS users will probably be more worried about spending an unhealthy amount of money on apps downloads.
