Audio-Technica releases new CKR series

Audio-Technica’s new CKR series includes five models (ATH-CKR10, ATH-CKR9, ATH-CKR7, ATH-CKR5iS and ATH-CKR3iS) that promise to offer the same clean sounds and accurate balance found in the popular CKM series.

What’s new in this series is a Dual Phase Push-Pull technology developed by Audio-Technica’s Japanese engineers. Originally developed for audiophile speakers, the technology has been adapted for earphones by mounting two 13mm dynamic driver units facing each other. The two units move simultaneously, but in opposite directions, thus increasing their efficiency.

The ATH-CKR10 has two 13mm drivers.

The ATH-CKR9 features a machined aluminum housing.

The ATH-CKR10 and ATH-CKR9 both feature dual phase push pull drivers, with bass acoustic resistors for improved low-frequency control. The ATH-CKR10 has a frequency range of 5 to 40,000Hz, and has a low impedance of just 12Ω, with titanium housings to reduce unwanted vibration.Meanwhile, the ATH-CKR9 has a frequency range of 5 to 35,000Hz, also with an impedance of 12Ω. This set uses aluminum housings to reduce unwanted resonance for a crisp mid-high audio range.

The ATH-CKR10 and ATH-CKR9 are both available now at all major retailers for S$338 and S$248 respectively.

The ATH-CKR7 features 14mm drivers.

The ATH-CKR7 uses 14mm drivers housed in a machined stainless steel and aluminum hybrid structure housing to reduce harmonic distortion. Dual acoustic resisters provide for improved frequency response, and the earphones have a frequency response of 5 to 28,000Hz, with an impedance of 16 Ω. The ATH-CKR7 is available now at S$128.

The ATH-CKR5iS is compatible with both Android and iPhone.

Available in red, black and white, the ATH-CKR5iS comes with an in-line remote for answering calls and controlling playback. Specialized brass stabilizers help deliver high resolution audio, while the 13mm drivers deliver a frequency response of 5 to 25,000Hz at an impedance of 16 Ω. Compatible with both Android and iPhone, the ATH-CKR5iS is available now for S$68.

You get a choice of Red, white, blue and black with the ATH-CKR3iS.

Finally, the ATH-CKR3iS features 9.8mm drivers for rich, wide-ranging audio reproduction with a frequency response of 5 to 24,000Hz. It’s the lightest of the group at approximately 6g, and also has an impedance of 16 Ω. Available now for S$48 in your choice of black, blue, red and white.
