The ASUS Transformer Book T100 Chi will be available from mid-April

The ASUS Transformer Book T100 Chi is powered by a quad-core Intel Atom processor and features a 10.1-inch detachable display.

First seen at CES 2015, the ASUS Transformer Book T100 Chi can best be thought of as the recently reviewed Transformer Book T300 Chi's little brother.

The idea behind the Transformer Book T100 Chi is similar to its larger sibling: it is an ultra-thin 2-in-1 hybrid notebook that features a detachable tablet display and a separate keyboard dock. However, it is targeted at users with less demanding work loads and usage patterns.

The Transformer Book T100 Chi features a smaller 10.1-inch touchscreen display that features a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels, which gives it a pixel density count of about 224 pixels per inch.

Under the hood is a quad-core Intel Atom Z3775 processor (with a 2MB L2 cache) that runs at 1.46GHz and is capable of boosting up to 2.39GHz. This fairly high-end Atom processor is complemented by 2GB of RAM, while storage comes in the form of a 64GB eMMC. It will run Windows 8.1 Bing.

ASUS has also outfitted the Transformer Book T100 Chi with a very capable 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, while the front-facing camera shoots in Full HD. Battery life is rated at 10 hours.

Finally, the tablet display itself weighs just about 430g; and if the keyboard dock is attached, it weighs just over 1kg.

And at an exclusive ASUS event for HWZ members, we have been informed that the Transformer Book T100 Chi will go on sale from 15 April (a week from now) and will be priced at S$599. This model will also replace the existing Transformer Book T100.
