ASUS Reveals ROG Swift PG278Q, a 27-inch G-Sync Capable Gaming Monitor

ASUS has just announced the 27-inch ROG Swift PG278Q gaming monitor. It has a WQHD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution, coupled with a refresh rate of 120+ Hz, and a response time of 1ms. To top things off, it supports NVIDIA G-Sync technology, as well as ASUS’ GamePlus feature.

Bid farewell to display lag and video stutters with NVIDIA G-Sync. Essentially, the technology synchronizes the monitor’s refresh rates to the GPU’s draw rates. As a result, the monitor will have a variable frame rate. As the ROG Swift PG278Q has a refresh rate of 120+ Hz, we can be sure of smooth videos. However, do note that in order to enjoy G-Sync, a GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost and above graphics card is required.

The 27-inch display has a maximum resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, with a response time of 1ms. With its 6mm thin bezel, it is ideal of multi-monitor configurations. As a nod to gamers, it also comes with the exclusive GamePlus feature. It is an OSD overlay that “that enables crosshair and timer functions to be displayed on the monitor.” It will allow gamers to select crosshair types for different gaming environments, while the timer function allows players to keep track of time. This is supposed to assist gamers in their training.
