ASUS Releases Limited Edition ROG ARES II with New Hybrid Thermal Design

Hot on the heels of PowerColor's Devil 13 Dual-GPU Radeon HD 7990 comes ASUS' Limited Edition Dual-GPU ROG ARES II. Boasting dual-Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition GPUs and 6GB GDDR5 VRAM this monster graphics card features a boost core clock speed of 1100MHz, making it the most powerful dual-GPU custom card available today.
To complement its massive power, the ARES II boasts a unique hybrid custom cooler that utilizes liquid and air cooling. The hybrid design consists of a 120mm fan connected to a closed-cycle liquid system with a tube running to the graphics card to provide dedicated heat removal from the dual-GPUs. The card itself also includes an 80mm dust-proof fan to enable added cooling for critical components such as video memory and power delivery elements, as well as resist harmful dust and debris accumulation. Despite its impressive cooler, the ARES II takes up only two PCIe slots, ensuring compatibility with most PC cases. The card will require 3 x 8-pin power connectors.
Ports will include 1 x single link DVI, 1 x dual link DVI and 4 x DisplayPort. A DVI to HDMI adapter will be included.
The ROG ARES II will be limited to 1000 pieces worldwide and will be available in Q1 2013. Pricing is currently unavailable.
