Amped Wireless Unveils First High Power Wi-Fi Adapter for Windows 8

Amped Wireless has unveiled the TAN1, the first High Power Wi-Fi Adapter designed specifically for use with Windows 8 tablets, Ultrabooks, and laptops.
The adapter integrates Amped Wireless' high power technology to allow the Windows 8 devices up to three times greater Wi-Fi range and performance compared to standard embedded Wi-Fi adapters. Connecting to the USB port (standard or Micro USB) of the device, the TAN1 requires no additional software set up and provides instant long range Wi-Fi connectivity. Featuring an elegant, compact form fatcor, it may be used on a flat surface, or safely fastened to the edge of a screen with an adjustable clip, or fastened to most tablets using protective cases.
It also includes the Wi-Fi Analytics Tool app, an advanced software application for Windows devices that assists in analyzing and optimizing Wi-Fi networks for maximum speed and coverage.
Key features of TAN1:-
- High Power Wi-Fi Amplifiers for improving Wi-Fi transmitting capabilities
- Low Noise Amplifiers for improving Wi-Fi receiving capabilities
- High Gain Antennas
- Adjustable clip to accommodate all tablets and cases
- Connects via USB 2.0 or micro USB connector
- Provides up to 3x the range of embedded Wi-Fi adapters
The TAN1 will be available early 2013.
Amped Wireless will be at CES 2013 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, South Hall 4, Booth #35506, 8 to 11 January 2013, and at Pepcom's Digital Experience at the MGM Grand Hotel on 7th January 2013 from 7-10pm.
