Is this the actual retail box of the Apple iPhone 6?
Spy shots taken of retail boxes for upcoming smartphones seem to be the trend these days. Besides the leaked Samsung Galaxy Note 4's retail package, we now have a look at that of the Apple iPhone 6.
According to TechRadar, a source claimed the photos were taken by an Apple beta tester. The publication could not verify the authenticity of the source and the photos, but pointed out some key observations.
While the retail box shows a champagne gold iPhone, the device in the box is a silver model. The Apple's Health app is apparently missing on the home screen of the iPhone 6 pictured on the retail package, which is supposedly one of the key features of iOS 8. Tips, iBooks and Podcasts are also not featured.
The retail box and device shown in these photos could be one of the many clone knock offs from China as TechRadar had pointed out in a YouTube link. These Chinese variants look remarkably similar to the leaked designs we've seen over the past few months. Below is one video of a fake iPhone 6:
Apple is likely to hold a media event for the iPhone 6 on September 9 and launch the device(s) in global markets from mid-September.
