AccuWeather Updates App with Fresh Features for Windows Phone Mango

STATE COLLEGE, Pennsylvania - AccuWeather today announced the release of the updated AccuWeather for Windows Phone 7.5 application, available for download from Windows Phone Marketplace. Designed specifically for the newest version of Windows Phone, codenamed “Mango,” the app allows for easier access to essential weather content and utilizes Windows Phone’s unique features, taking advantage of platform developments.

AccuWeather for Windows Phone 7.5 is truly a dynamic, world-class reliable weather app. It provides all of the localized and accurate weather information users are used to from AccuWeather. Features new to this version of the application include:

  • App Connect - Connects the app to your Bing location search, giving current weather conditions for the searched location.
  • Two-Sided Tiles - Tiles flip from one side to the other, switching from current conditions to the day's high/low temperatures.
  • Secondary Application Tiles - Allows for multiple tiles (one for each location) to be added to the home screen for instant access to weather information.
  • Fast Application Switching - Application is preserved for immediate resuming.
  • Localization (English, French, Italian, German, Spanish) - Application can determine which language the device is set to and automatically translates app into that language.
  • Notifications for Weather Alerts - Allows you to subscribe to weather alert notifications for the default location.
