Google is shelving plans for dedicated apps like Gmail and Drive for Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 due to the limited scale of users on Microsoft's platforms. The search giant, however, might change its mind if the situation improves.
Instagram, Twitter and Snapseed aside, Flickr for iOS has ramped up the competition with some updates of its own, including the addition of 16 new filters and a revamped user interface.
