From October 19th to December 31st 2011, RIM is offering a selection of free premium apps as a form of appreciation for their customers' patience during the largest BlackBerry service outage from the week before.

Security issues at Sony has caused it to lock down over 93,000 user accounts as a precautionary measure. This is the second major security breach suffered by Sony this year.
