Microsoft has just announced that Windows 8.1 will arrive through the Windows Store on October 17, 7:00pm (Singapore time). The retail version as well as new devices loaded with the updated OS will go on sale a day later on October 18.
As part of Patch Tuesday, Microsoft has issued several bug fixes for Windows 8.1 Preview. Also, new firmwares are available for the company's Surface RT and Surface Pro tablets.
Paragon Software has just introduced its latest Migrate OS to SSD 3.0 software that lets users quickly migrate their OS from a larger capacity hard disk drive to a smaller capacity SSD.
There are reports that hackers have been stocking up on Windows XP exploits, and are planning to release them the moment Microsoft ceases support for the aging operating system.

WhatsApp, a popular cross-platform mobile messaging app, has announced that a new voice messaging feature will be made available to all users on all platforms by the end of the week. Users can now push a button to record voice messages, while releasing the button sends the message automatically.
Microsoft has announced that Bing on Windows Phone 8 is getting a new look and some new features. First up, the number of Bing search result categories will be reduced to three: Web, Images, and Videos.
