Doom and Quake co-creator John Carmack has resigned from id Software, the company he co-founded in 1991, to concentrate full-time on his position as Chief Technology Officer at Oculus VR, the company behind the Oculus Rift technology.

Sony spokesman Dan Race issued a statement to The Washington Post that the number of PlayStation 4 consoles affected by the "blue light of death" is fewer than 1 percent of all consoles sold.
After tearing down the PlayStation 4 and analyzing its components, it is believed that each console costs Sony about US$381 to build.
