This benchmark tests sequential read and write speeds using large blocks of data (1000MB) for each drive. This simulates usage such as transcoding a large video file. Buffalo’s MiniStation Extreme was the clear winner here, with the rest of the drives performing fairly close to each, but lagging well behind.
