SITEX 2006

Renowned for its strong emphasis on technology education via themed segments in addition to strong support from retailers and vendors year after year, SITEX 2006 promises to bring you closer to new products, online services and a glimpse of tomorrow's digital technology today. A key highlight that separates SITEX from all other local tech events is the variety of products and services it hosts and here's what we saw.

AMD's Booth

The AMD booth at Sitex this year heavily focused on the new dual-core Turion mobile processors. AMD's booth was also a launchpad for many new Turion 64 X2 notebooks.

AMD and Hewlett-Packard also had displays setup for some gaming fun and the announcement of their joint sponsorship of Team Zenith, the DOTA champions of 2006 CAPL seasons.

Team Zenith was on site to show off their skills in DOTA.

Lucky draw chances of bagging yourself an XBOX 360 for purchase of AMD boxed processors during the show.

Aztech Skype DECT Phones and technology on showcase in AMD's booth as well.

The iconic Acer Ferrari 1004WTMi notebook on sale running the AMD Turion 64 X2 TL56 (1.8GHz) CPU, 1GB DDR2 RAM, 120GB HDD, Radeon Xperss 1150 GPU, HD Audio and 1.3MP camera going for S$2998

Acer range of Aspire notebooks running the Turion 64 X2 processors featuring large 15.4-inch WXGA LCDs and ATI Radeon Xpress 1100 plaform and graphics engine. The Aspore 5101AWLMi and 5102WLMi were on offer for S$1198 and S$1298 respectively.

BenQ had their Joybook T31-E16 on sale at AMD's booth as well for S$1799. The Joybook runs on a 1.6Ghz Turion 64 X2 TL50 CPU, 13.3-inch WXGA monitor, 512MB RAM, 100GB HDD and comes with a free 512MB Thumbdrive.

The HP Compaq Presario V3123 with Turion 64 X2 TL50, 512MB RAM, 80GB HDD, NVIDIA GeForce Go 6150, 14.1-inch WXGA LCD, WLAN 802.11b/g and Bluetooth 2.0 goes for S$1499.

HP also had their own NX6315 notebook on display as well, featuring the Turion 64 X2 mobile CPU. Free gifts include a HP Officejet AIO too.
