2014 marks the 35th edition of the Bankok Motor Show and it is expected to attract close to 2 million attendees.

Unknown to many, Thailand has a very active and strong automotive industry. After all, many car manufacturers have factories here including Japanese makes such as Toyota, Honda and Nissan as well as American and European brands such as Ford, Volvo and even Mercedes-Benz. Thailand is also home to many factories that make aftermarket car accessories from high-tech equipment such as in-car entertainment units (Pioneer has a factory just north of Bangkok) to stuff such as steering wheel and brake handle covers. That aside, Thailand is also recognized as as one of the stronger emerging economies in the Southeast Asia region, especially for automobiles.

The Bangkok Motor Show began back in 1979 and this year marks the 35th edition of the show. Not only does the show serve as opportunity for brands to display their latest models, it is also the perfect place for car accessory manufacturers to show off their latest wares. Here are the interesting things we saw at the show, including, of course, the show girls. Feast your eyes and enjoy.

To say that the Bangkok Motor Show was crowded would be an understatement. Like Singaporeans, it's obvious that Thais love cars too.

Mercedes-Benz's booth was one of the most crowded with many attendees checking out the new C-Class.

Over at rivals BMW, the new i8 Concept was attracting all the attention.

If a zombie apocalypse comes to pass, this would be our choice of wheels.

Rolls Royce brought out their new Wraith sports coupe.

The Camaro ZL1 has 580hp, 754nm of torque and can hit 100km/h in under four seconds. It also has a top speed of nearly 300km/h and can complete the quarter-mile in 12 seconds. This is Bumblebee on steroids.

The big cats come out to play. Headlining Jaguar's booth was the new XFR sports saloon and F-Type sports convertible.

Porsche's spanking new 911 GT3 was at the show floor. Hopefully this is one of the newer models with a replaced engine, because early examples of the car were known to catch fire, forcing Porsche to issue a worldwide recall.
