Sharing Showcase Nokia 2008

Showcase Nokia 2008 started off with a big bang at Sydney, in conjunction with Nokia's press conference in Barcelona at the Mobile World Congress. This year, all eyes are on Ovi, the portal to Nokia's upcoming services that includes its existing Nokia Maps, Nokia Music Store, and various other services that are due to arrive in the upcoming months. Speaking to the media and trade partners, Chris Carr, Vice President, Sales, Nokia Southeast Asia Pacific, explains Nokia's vision of its services and devices in tandem with the ever-evolving Web 2.0 experience, and how Ovi fits seamlessly into it.

With a central theme revolving around the concept SHARE, Showcase Nokia reveals Nokia's upcoming services within its Ovi initiative, first of which is Share on Ovi.

Working on its recent acquisition of Twango, Nokia hosts its Share on Ovi service on www.twango.com , providing consumers with an online medium to create, upload and share their images, videos and audio at no extra costs, and allows virtually anyone to view their shared files without a need to sign up for its services.

In contrast with Nokia's support for image uploading with Flickr, Share on Ovi provides a wider range of file support for the consumer, giving one more flexibility in his or her media sharing spree. However, though Share on Ovi has started its services with immediate effect, it was noted that this is only a cog of part of the greater mechanics that Nokia intends for Ovi to truly represent.
