Setting Up the StarHub SmartWallet App

Like our trial users, we were given the opportunity to try out NFC payment services via StarHub SmartWallet. As such, we've detailed the setup process for your benefit. The StarHub SmartWallet App is free for download on supported devices from the Google Play Store. Upon downloading and installing the app, you will be prompted to create a 6-digit passcode. After doing so, you will be presented with three payment cards: 

Each payment card needs registration and activation before you can use it. Additionally, both the NFC EZ-Link Purse and FEVO Prepaid MasterCard require you to top up your account before they can be used. We'll detail the top-up details on another page, but on this page we've compiled a simple user guide to registering and/or activating these payment services using StarHub's SmartWallet as an example.

 

Payment Setup via DBS One.Tap MasterCard PayPass

If you are looking at this section, we assume that you already have a DBS / POSB account, and an iBanking account. Download the POSB mBanking or DBS mBanking app on your phone. You will be required to login via your user ID and PIN.

  • After your login is successful, you will see this page.
     
  • Click on Cards.

  •  Click on DBS ONE.TAP Application.
  
  • You can either proceed using your internet banking security token (iB Secure Device) to generate the 6-digit IB Secure PIN or receive the iBanking OTP via SMS
  
  • At the moment, DBS ONE.TAP Application application is only available for StarHub customers.
  • The service will be available to SingTel and M1 customers soon.
     
  • If you are using multi-SIM service, it is important to note that the NFC phone you have is using the primary SIM card (which is also your NFC SIM card)
  
  • You will be notified of the annual fee for DBS ONE.TAP account.
     
  • Fortunately, there is a fee waiver for three years.

 

  
  • Agree to the terms and conditions of the application.
  
  • Enter the relevant personal information.
  
  • After keying in your information, you are required to enter the iB Secure PIN from your iB Secure Device so as to complete the application.
  
  • Once your application is completed, you will have to wait for an SMS to notify whether the application is approved.
  
  • The SMS will inform you that the application is approved. 
     
  • You will be notified again via SMS when the account is ready for download and activation.

 

  

 

 

Payment Setup via NFC FEVO Prepaid MasterCard

Unlike your typical credit or debit card, you have to top up your NFC FEVO Prepaid MasterCard in order to use it. But first, here's the process to register with this payment service:-

  • You have to activate the NFC FEVO Prepaid MasterCard.

  • Your NFC SIM Card welcome pack should have the activation password on the back.

  
  • The app will then prompt you to set a password.
  
  • After setting a password and tapping "Next", your FEVO Prepaid MasterCard account is activated.
     
  • Proceed next to register your card.
  
  • Key in your personal information.
