New Entertainment and Lifestyle Phones (to be continued)

New Entertainment and Lifestyle Phones

Also launched were the more entertainment oriented music-centric phones, the Samsung SGH-F250 and SGH-i450:-

The SGH-F250 is a sleek, lightweight phone sporting hot-keys on the front face for easy access to your mobile music library. This affordable phone is set to be available at the end of this month, but take note that its finishing might exude a feeling of a plastic overdose. Plus the 65K color screen looks old school with a 128x160 pixel resolution. Now if only there was a version without the 1.3MP camera, it could have been a serious contender in the budget phone segment.

As a high-end entertainment mobile phone, the Samsung SGH-i450 features an interesting dual-slider phone design that opens up a phone on one end and a portable speaker on the other to share your music. Other highlights include a 2.4-inch QVGA 262K color display, 2MP camera, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, B&O Icepower Audio technology, surround sound, FM Radio and more. Expect availability from end of the month.

Besides the five phones that were unveiled, we managed to get a sneak peek into two eagerly anticipated phones - The fashionista Armani Phone and the Samsung F700 held by the lovely models.

The long awaited Samsung Ultra Smart F700 was announced even before CeBIT 2007, with sneak peeks at major international shows, but it has yet to debut in the retail market. We expect this keenly anticipated Apple iPhone competitor to make headway within the next few months to the end-user if all goes well. Keep your fingers crossed!

Touchy, touchy. The F700 is one of a kind. You would have to check it out personally to get a good feel of its interesting touch screen interface, especially the Drag and Drop capability.

Here's the Samsung Armani phone with its protective covering. This tri-band phone is all screen with its 2.6-inch QVGA 262K color screen but what makes it stand out from the crowd is the haptic feedback user interface. For the benefit of the uninitiated, this allows the user to feel an immediate mild vibration when touching any icons or activating functions - a possible solace as we push ever onward with touch screen interfaces. Weighing about 85 grams and just 10.5mm thin, this tiny phone still packs a 3MP camera. We expect it to cost a tidy sum, but lets wait for the list price when its goes gold.

Entertainment kept us captivated as we mingled among Samsung's representatives and checking out the various phones unveiled.
