Samsung Ultra Music F300 Phone Sneak Peek

Samsung Fun Club Birthday Bash

Samsung Fun Club Birthday Bash

Samsung had a blast two nights ago at the Butter Factory along Robertson Walk in Singapore. It celebrated the Samsung Funclub's fourth birthday in style with local celebrity DJ and host Daniel Ong, along with a large and loud crowd eager to get a sneak peek of the new Samsung Ultra Music F300 mobile phone which was unveiled at the event.

This is how crowded it can get at press events - well at least when there is a great product, good looking people flow of drinks!

Samsung Fun Club celebrated its 4th birthday in style.

Sneak Peek at Samsung's Ultra Music F300 Phone

The Samsung Ultra Music F300 phone which was the highlight of the event is only 9.4mm thick and has a unique dual-face design - one dedicated for music and the other for connectivity. It also offers a 2.0-Megapixel camera, microSD slot for expansion (12MB onboard memory) and unsurprisingly, A2DP (Bluetooth Audio) for wireless music headsets.

Apart from its unique dual-face design, the new Samsung Ultra Music F300 phone is equipped with a Bang & Olufsen ICEpower amp and offers a dedicated music user interface for quick and easy navigation through play lists. It also features stereo FM radio and a Quick PC Sync function, allowing users to easily create and organize their music library.

According to Samsung, detachable Bluetooth external speakers will also be available for sale at a later date to accompany the music oriented phone. The phone itself will be available real soon in May 2007 at a RRP of US$461 (S$698). With a two year contract from a local telco operator, it will be available for about US$395 (S$598).

The Samsung Ultra Music F300 mobile handsets sold in Singapore will come exclusively pre-loaded with Beyonce content including her latest hit singles "Irreplaceable" and "Deja vu", her "Beautiful Liar" music video and wallpapers featuring Beyonce's B'Day Deluxe Edition Album Cover and logo.

While we went up close with these phones that night, the venue was pretty dim and didn't offer a good close up shot of these sexy phones in our hands, so we threw in a two shots that we took in CeBIT among the ones we shot at this event for good measures. The new pictures that we took though weren't in vain and unveiled the Ultra Music F300's leather casing with in-built battery along with a set of dockable speakers sold separately.

We previously saw the Ultra Music F300 first hand at CeBIT and here is a closer look at it then. The MP3 side of the phone offers a very clean interface as seen on most of Samsung's MP3 players. Our only gripe was the lack of a direct 3.5mm audio interface on the phone itself.

The 'Phone' side of the Ultra Music F300 offers a generous keypad but skimps on its display panel.

The Samsung Ultra Music F300 is one sexy phone, though we felt the screen on the 'phone' side was slightly on the small side. You can also see the speaker dock (sold separately) under the Ultra Music F300 in this picture (right). The leathercase (middle) has its own battery and will extend the battery life of the phone when slipped on.

We didn't expect to see the Ultra Music F300 phone in these striking colors - these funky phones will surely be a hit in the streets.
