Cameras Galore!

Exciting times are ahead, we say. For those of us who can't wait for the major announcements over at PMA 2009, Panasonic has indulged us with a slew of devices. Unveiled during the Panasonic LUMIX Asia 2009 held in Singapore, we were introduced to the full lineup, laid bare for the media to take a peek at. From its latest, updated LUMIX series, to the introduction of its very first rugged digital compact cameras and camcorders, we call this a truckload of goodies coming our way.

Panasonic models displaying the successor to the immensely popular Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FX38 - the new Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FX48. But there's more where that came from.

There's also Panasonic's first underwater camera, the Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FT1. More of this rugged camera in the upcoming FT1 Demonstration page.

And for the camcorder segment, there's the Panasonic SDR-SW21, which is waterproof up to 2m, as opposed to its camera cousin, the FT1, which goes up to 3m.

It's not just about some swanky new underwater camera from Panasonic. There are also many updates for its LUMIX and camcorder lineup. New additions such as Face Recognition, 70X Optical Zoom for its camcorder series and AVCHD Lite video recording are some of the new features introduced in 2009.
