Unlike previous years, this year's keynote took place at the Moscone West instead of the Moscone South. For this year's Macworld coverage, we aren't going to walk you through the whole keynote in the order Apple's CEO Steve Job presented. The new product announcements are probably what you've been waiting for and that's what we are going to jump right into.


Apple TV - Apple Invades Your Living Room

The first hardware product announced in the keynote is the Apple TV (formerly dubbed the iTV). This product was no secret since its development was unveiled many months ago by Apple. However this time round, we got to see more on how it works, its hardware specifications, and of course details on pricing and availability.

  • Internal 40GB hard (for up to 50 hours of video, 9,000 songs, 25,000 photos or a combination of each)
  • Supports 802.11 Wi-Fi wireless networking (b/g/n standards)
  • Comes with HDMI, Component video, analog and optical audio ports
  • Uses an Intel processor
  • Designed for widescreen TVs
  • Auto-sync from one PC
  • Stream from up to 5 PCs
  • Ships with Apple Remote
  • Requires iTunes 7 or later running on a Mac with Mac OS X v10.3.9 or later, or a Windows
  • PC with Windows XP Home/Professional (SP2).
