LG's Flat-Panel HDTVs

LG's Entices With 200Hz Refresh Rates and Bluetooth Lures

LH50 Full-HD LCD TV

Slated as one of LG's premium Full-HD LCD TVs, the LH50 will continue to cart LG's S-IPS panel with some of the finest features the Koreans have to offer. The LH50 is appreciatively more than just a 1080p display, packed with visual treats like LG's TruMotion 200Hz frame rate enhancement, a 150,000:1 contrast ratio and 24p Real Cinema (24fps to 50 fps) conversion. Its 2ms response time is notably meaner than the LH70, which lags behind slightly at 2.4ms. Following the beaten path of built-in digital tuners, the LH50 will sport an integrated iDTV tuner for HD enthusiasts.

Smart Energy Saving Plus is an enhanced power-saving initiative from LG. The LH50 is engineered with "intelligent sensors" which manipulates the backlight such that it doesn't incur any excessive power wastage. Also, this feature allows the TV to go into its inactive mode without a single watt consumed.

Powered by its 'hidden' four 2-way speakers, the LH50's entire bezel will act as the TV's sounding board. This ingenious audio solution is coyly dubbed as "Invisible Speakers", proudly tuned by Mr Mark Levinson, of course. Do see our price guide below for the various screen sizes.

LH70 Full-HD LCD TV

Adding another peg to the Scarlet ensemble is the LH70, a Full-HD LCD TV sporting fiery red accents and a curvaceous nature. The LH70 isn't the slimmest we've seen, but its 39.7mm girth (42-inch model) is still a notch thinner than its chubbier Scarlet predecessor. So how did LG work their diet plan? Simply by relocating the TV's tuner and components to the panel's base instead of its rear.

The panel has other savory specifications to sell, like LG's TruMotion 100Hz anti-judder armament and 24p Real Cinema feature. More importantly, the LH70 isn't just another pretty doll since it offers Bluetooth support as well. So you may jive to the LH70 with your Bluetooth headset or simply stream content from your mobile phone. Expect a USB port and DivX support too. The 32, 42 and 47-inch LH70 models will pack a 100,000:1 contrast ratio.

PQ60 Plasma Display Panel

LG did not forget about their plasma department either. The PQ60 PDP, however, is simply a HD-Ready panel which comes in 42-inch or 50-inch assortments. The PQ60 might fall short of a Full-HD native resolution, but it has other sumptuous traits to make you want one. For starters, the PQ60 has a 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio with a blistering response time of 0.001ms. It features LG's "Single Layer" design where a single glass sheet covers both the bezel and panel.
