IT Show 2006

The highly anticipated IT Show, Singapore's largest IT, digital and consumer electronics exhibition is finally opened to the eager public again. Other than being a battle zone for bargain hunters to take the opportunity to shop to their heart's content, IT Show 2006 is also a great place to test products that you've been wanting to get your hands on for ages. Whichever the case, three levels of exhibition space means there are more than enough gadgets and gizmos to wear down your legs. So put on a pair of comfortable walking shoes and start roaming the isles of IT Show 2006.

Acer

19 inches of liquid crystals packed in a 1440 by 900 configuration and how much is this widescreen monitor with 8ms pixel response time going for? Just a mere $399 but unfortunately you have to act fast because there are only 100 units up for grabs.

If your job requires you to drive about the entire Singapore, you'll be much better off with this Acer PDA with built-in GPS.

Acer has made available three different packages of freebies for selected notebooks purchased at IT Show 2006. Choose from either an external 40GB hard disk drive, a wireless optical mouse with $100 Metro shopping voucher or free extended warranty. Acer has even thrown in a DLink Wireless Pocket Router & Microsoft Works 8.0 for good measure.

Apple

This is no ordinary PowerBook powered by PowerPC G4 processor. What you are looking at is the all new MacBook Pro with a heart that beats by the name of Intel Core Duo.

Aligning to the rhythm of IT Show 2006, Apple has also drafted freebies for every purchase of an iPod nano, iPod or MacBook Pro.

iPod speakers are a dime a dozen but it seems the appeal of white has yet to diminish at all.

Like the isan DS-309, the portable audio system above compromises bass for portability.

This big mama on the other hand is the full main course. You get considerably more punchy bass in addition to a cool matching remote control, and it is, to a certain extent, portable as well.
