Cruising Along with the HTC Touch Cruise
HTC ushered in the year 2008 with the introduction of its two latest products into the region, namely the HTC Touch Cruise and the HTC Shift, showcased in an exclusive invitation, held at St. Regis Singapore.
Though introduced as the third member of its HTC Touch family, the HTC Touch Cruise is the first to feature integrated GPS functionality. At a quick glance, the Touch Cruise relies fully on its TouchFlo interface running on Windows Mobile 6 Professional, with a comfortable screen size of 2.8-inch. This comes at an expense to its dimensions however, which sees its size grow larger than its Touch predecessors and even the TyTN II, albeit it's thinner and lighter.
The HTC Touch Cruise specifications are standard fare and have been pretty much expected, which includes HSDPA, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. Running on a Qualcomm MSM 7200 400MHz processor, with 256MB ROM and 128MB RAM, the Touch Cruise could see itself to be on a similar standing with the TyTN II than its own siblings. Whether the TouchFlo interface can prove itself more favorable over the TyTN II's QWERTY keypad is a question that'll definitely be answered in our upcoming review.
