Sony Ericsson - Imaging Version 8.1

While the crowds were hustling over at the Singapore Expo in their exploration for the latest wireless and cellular devices in CommunicAsia 2008, we were ushered to another mobile device launch over at the Singapore Flyer. For that, Sony Ericsson was the kind host and unveiled their latest digital imaging phone, the Sony Ericsson C905 Cyber-shot.

And the unique selling point of this device? It's whooping 8.1-megapixel Cyber-shot camera equipped with Xenon flash. Yes, the competition has heated up once more. At this current point in time, Sony Ericsson has upped the ante with the introduction of this imaging powerhouse, with a whole load of bells and whistles added in for good measure. With an integrated image stabilizer, red eye reduction and smart contrast that should make your picture capturing moments so much easier, the C905 Cyber-shot will be what cameras have become (pardon us for this little pun, but it was too hard to resist).

Nonetheless, the C905 Cyber-shot is, first and foremost, a cellular device, and thus it wasn't a surprise to us when we noticed that the C905 Cyber-shot is a 3.5G device. With connectivity options such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0 and HSDPA onboard, not to forget GPS with A-GPS for the lost little sheep in us, the C905 Cyber-shot is also a multimedia powerhouse, with the Memory Stick Micro expandability (a 2GB Memory Stick Micro will be bundled with the device) that allows you to store your favorite tracks and movies for your listening and viewing pleasure. Or, if you are just in the mood for some easy listening, the integrated FM radio should do the trick too.

What you see here is the Sony Ericsson C905 Cyber-shot in our hands, measuring in at 104 x 49 x 18 mm (19.5mm over the lens) and weighing in at 136g. The standard 2.4" TFT LCD screen supporting resolutions of up to 240 x 320 pixels will be applicable on the C905 Cyber-shot.

The Sony Ericsson C905 Cyber-shot, the 8.1-megapixel camera phone that should capture (literally) the hearts of many with its Q4 arrival in 2008. And yes, as you might have noticed, the C905 Cyber-shot is a slider phone.

Directing our attention to the side profile, the 18mm thickness could be a deterring factor, but for all we know, the additional bulk of the device will give consumers the solid feel they wish for in a device.
