aigo's Booth

Aigo demonstrated a nifty little device called the aigopen, which basically does all the book reading for you so you don't have to. Simply point the pen at the book or an image, and the pen reads out the related text. You can even switch languages too. There is no magic to this however, and you cannot just point at any book. Books must be specially printed to support the aigopen. At the moment, aigo does have a small selection of Chinese literature that works with the pen and if you happen to be at the Beijing Olympics this year, you'll probably see the aigopen at work.

AMD's Booth

AMD's presence at CES this year was incredibly subdued, to say the least. AMD had one announcement for their ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3000 series, but was otherwise content at laying low. Their booth wasn't even inside the exhibition halls.

Instead, it was more or less an information counter and rest area situated on the pathway between halls.

Inside the tiny booth, there were a few lifestyle scenarios setup for gaming and work with a few of their partner products, mainly Acer. You get to have a hands on of the OLPC XO too, and that's actually the highlight.
