More than Just 'One More Thing'

Apple, Apple and more Apple! It would seem that Apple has once again taken center stage in the Internet community. For the past few months, Apple has been banging us with news such as the controversial legal dispute with Creative Technology, New Core 2 Duo-based iMac computers (up to 24-inch LCD screen sizes), mysterious Mac mini Core Solo to Core Duo free processor upgrade claims to finally the new iPod announcements. With so many new products released lately, Apple has definitely gained more mind share from the lesser folks who still think Windows is the best operating system (no pun intended).

Today we were privileged to witness some of the latest Apple products revealed recently at San Francisco. The most notable among them were the fresh range of iPod devices. All of them seem to have been given some kind of makeover. The newer iPod, though looking the same, now has a brighter screen and its interface has also been improved with dedicated search and scroll functions. You can even buy retro games like Bejewelled, Tetris and Zuma and play them on the new iPod.

The next few announcements that had us taken over is the return of the iPod mini color scheme on the second-generation iPod nano. It shares a similar interface with the new iPod and is slightly thinner than the predecessor. The long rumored iPod shuffle that was thought cancelled has actually come to pass and it morphed into a smaller and more wearable gadget that suits for any occasion. For those who have been complaining about the stock headphones, you would be delighted to know that Apple has redesigned the stock headphones with better ergonomics. In our brief trial with the new headphones, we liked its good treble reproduction and the comfort offered when worn on our ears.

Last by not least of the announcements is the revamped iTunes 7.0 that lets you sort your music using cover art. What we like most about the new iTunes is that it'll download and add all the missing cover art in your music library. Also new with iTunes is that you can now purchase movies online. Sadly, iTune store isn't available internationally (yet). That basically covers the gist of the recent announcements and to wrap it all up, we bring you a photo gallery from the event that highlights some of these mentioned products.

Meet the new Apple gadget family. The entire new iPod lineup will be made available in retail very soon.
