Renowned Singaporean Adventurer Sets New Record for World's Longest Journey on Skates
Khoo Swee Chiow completes over 6,000km skating journey from Hanoi, Vietnam to Singapore to raise awareness for energy conservation
Brocade announced today that Singapore's professional adventurer, Khoo Swee Chiow, has successfully set a new record for the World's Longest Journey on Skates.
Sponsored by Brocade, the focus of this initiative was to underscore Brocade's Green initiatives and raise awareness of the importance of reducing energy consumption amongst individuals and companies.
"Today is a triumphant moment for me and for everyone who cares about the environment. This journey has provided me with a strong platform to draw attention to the urgent need for energy conservation. Most importantly, it enabled me to spread the message and inspire others to take on the challenge of protecting the environment," said Khoo Swee Chiow.
Key milestones of Khoo's journey include:
- Started on Oct 20, 2007 from Hanoi, Vietnam
- Broke world record (4,175 km) on Dec 24, 2007 at Hua Hin, Thailand
- Traveled through several ASEAN countries including Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand and Malaysia.
- Took 94 days to set the world record
