OLPC Scraps Dual Touch Screen Model

If you know of netbooks, then you'll definitely have to thank OLPC for their efforts in coming up with a cheap notebook for kids to learn. These cheap notebooks are the source of inspiration of the netbooks you see today. Since then, OLPC had announced plans for a dual touch screen ebookish model that has now been scrapped the device in favor of a newer paper-like device. Whether this will end up as vaporware remains to be seen, but you have to get them kudos for trying their best to help everyone on board the digital age.
xconomy.com - Of perhaps greatest interest, Negroponte told us the organization has scrapped plans unveiled in May 2008 for an e-book-like second-generation XO laptop, instead focusing on an upgraded version of the current XO and designs for a “3.0″ version of the device that will be “more like a sheet of paper.”
