According to the BBC News, two lists, containing more than 30,000 of AOL, Google, Hotmail and Yahoo account IDs and their passwords have been leaked. The users are thought to be victims of phishing schemes. But the worst has yet to come, as Google has said that it has found a third list of account IDs and passwords and more could be coming.
BBC News - BBC News has seen two lists that detail more than 30,000 names and passwords from e-mail providers, including Yahoo and AOL, which were posted online.
The lists also include details of thousands of Microsoft Hotmail users. Google said fewer than 500 of its accounts had been affected by the scam.
However, the search giant revealed that it had discovered a third list, but would not say how many accounts it showed.
This goes to show just how important Internet education is. While the Internet might be a rich source of information and entertainment, this incident shows that too many users are unaware of the dangers it poses. To read the full article, click here.
